high carbon steel

For high carbon steel type projects, high carbon steels are formed through the process of bending and welding, both the bending and welding may be done with or without a heat treat. The high carbon steel type is known as HCS, high carbon steel type, or simply high carbon steel. It is a very tough material and it has a high carbon content that makes it capable of hardening at high temperatures and stresses. This property of high carbon steel allows it to withstand extreme stresses and heat without getting damaged. If the high carbon steel is not tempered properly, it may develop cracks, split into pieces. This makes it impractical for some high carbon steel type projects like high pressure vessel projects and underground gas and oil pipelines.
