Brass is one of the four metals commonly used in brass manufacturing. However brass is also a combination of zinc and copper and sometimes includes manganese. Brass combines high electrical conductivity with good durability and resistance to corrosion. In addition to these qualities, brass alloy is also known for its lubricity and its ability to bear scratches and wear without deformation.

There are different alloys that constitute brass. Some of them are Zinc Brass, Antic Brass, Tantalum, Iron Brome, Oxidized Brass, and Stainless Steel. Among these, brass alloy 360 is one of the strongest and has the highest tensile strength. Compared to other brass alloys, it has the highest temperature resistance and lowest moisture resistance. Low melting point. This brass alloy has low melting points. This quality enables brass to be used in the hot molten gases of an explosion. The metal can survive this kind of extreme heat without getting damaged. As a result, manufacturers can produce brass products which have very high strength. Moreover, brass alloy 360 is known for its good electrical conductivity and its tensile strengths of up to 50,000 psi.

Threaded rod thread type. This alloy has the highest tolerance levels in stress relieving. Moreover, it can handle both hot and cold materials and is suitable for use in a wide variety of applications. As a result, brass alloy 360 has low cost and high efficiency in welding.

High tensile strength. This brass alloy has high tensile strengths which can prevent fatigue cracks and corrosion. In addition, it can support stresses to 50,000 PSI which is much more than any other metal. Furthermore, because of its good electrical conductivity and excellent tensile strengths, brass can be used in engine parts, pipe and fitting designs, and military instruments.

Low price. Manufacturers often combine this brass alloy with other metals to make it cheaper. However, because of its excellent qualities which have made it so popular, its price is on the higher end. Some brass alloys have very high alloy values yet are comparatively cheaper than others.

Maintainability. Brass is very difficult to forge. It requires a lot of effort and can only be hammered into bars and sheets. This makes it unsuitable for making brass blades or parts which need to be cut, formed and hammered into shape. Because it is so difficult to maintain, brass alloy tools must often be hand-polished before and after use to bring out the grain and surface texture and to prevent rusting.

Durability. The brass has been used for hundreds of years due to its superior quality of strength and durability. It can withstand heavy blows without breaking. The thread type brass can also survive for long periods of time in storage. This means that brass is an ideal choice for products which will be regularly used, such as a tool handle or a socket.

Stainless. As mentioned above, brass alloy has very high alloy values but it does not have the same weakness to corrosion as other metals. For this reason, it can sustain many times the force of impact and remain unaltered. When using brass in a building, this feature can ensure that the brass remains beautiful and does not loose any of its integrity even after years of use. This makes brass ideal for use in products where aesthetics are important such as key rings, beverage holders and military insignia.

Longevity. Brass is one of the most durable alloys, having an outstanding life span. Brass is said to be so strong that it can be used to make swords. Some brass alloy swords have been sold at auctions for several million dollars.

Harmfulness. Unlike stainless steel, brass does not discolor with exposure to the sun. Therefore, it is suitable for outdoor use, although it can tarnish if not properly cleaned. Because it contains no magnesium, brass alloy can be severely corroded by acid, salt or chlorine. It can also be burned when struck or scratched, although most of the damage is superficial and will not affect the durability of the item. In addition, brass does not contain chromium, another element that can cause corrosion.

There are a variety of uses for brass alloy. The most common ones are as metal fillings for implants and other hard-to-fit structures and as an alloy for brass pipe fittings. However, it has unique properties that make it an excellent building material for the craftsman. Its affordability makes brass an affordable building material as well.
